Pinnacle Motor Club Insurance Requirements

Insurance Requirements for Pinnacle Service Providers

Partnering with a roadside assistance network is one of the best ways for towing companies to succeed. With a steady stream of demand and little marketing or brand awareness needed, it’s no surprise that thousands of towing companies become service providers for roadside assistance networks like Pinnacle Motor Club. For many roadside assistance companies, the final (and most difficult) step to signing up as a service provider is getting a certificate of insurance that meets Pinnacle Motor Club’s insurance requirements.

There is a perfect storm of factors making insurance tricky for towing and roadside assistance providers. For starters, most roadside assistance networks have different requirements, so it can be confusing to try and meet all of them. Secondly, some insurance carriers don’t offer the limits that networks require, which can make it difficult to find coverage at all. Finally, the auto insurance industry has become significantly more competitive in the past few years, making policies more expensive.

At Bunker, we’re working to change this by helping carriers enter the market with new, affordable products, and simplifying the process for towing and roadside assistance companies.

This article will give you a simple guide to the Coverages, Limits and Endorsements that Pinnacle requires, what they cover, and how to get a Certificate of Insurance that meets your insurance requirements quickly and affordably.

Pinnacle Motor Club Service Provider Insurance Requirements

As a Pinnacle Service Provider, the insurance requirements in your contract will vary based on the work you’re doing. Learn about the requirements for towing and non-towing providers below! In the next section, we’ll provide easy, pre-made policies for both, with all of your requirements built in.

Roadside Assistance Partners:

General Liability: $300K

General Liability Insurance will cover third party injury and property damage up to $300,000.

Workers’ Compensation: Statutory

If you have employees, you’re required to purchase workers compensation that meets the minimum legal limit determined by your state. You can find the requirements for your state here, or purchase a pre-built Pinnacle Policy and our advisors will fill it in for you.

Certificate Holder

Listing Pinnacle Motor Club as a certificate holder allows them to access information and updates on your insurance policies, like early cancellation notices. You should list the following on your certificate of insurance:

Pinnacle Motor Club
Service Provider Department
P.O. Box 1179
Grapevine, TX 76099-1179

Additional Insured

An additional insured endorsement allows your coverage to extend to Pinnacle as well, when applicable. You’ll need to make sure the wording is exactly right, or you may need a new certificate before you can get started. Your certificate should list “Pinnacle Motor Club” as additional insured (rather than Pinnacle or PMC).

Certificate of Insurance

  • Your certificate of insurance must list your Service Provider / Vendor ID #
  • Electric copies of your certificate of insurance can up uploaded to the application portal
  • Physical copies can be faxed to 800-331-1145 or mailed to the Certificate Holder address above.

If You’re Towing, Add:

Automobile Liability: $300K

Your Commercial Auto policy will cover up to $300,000 in damages that take place while you’re driving as part of your job. If you’re driving vehicles that you don’t own personally, you may need Hired and Non-Owned Auto.

On-Hook: $100K

On-Hook covers up to $100,000 in damages to a customers vehicle that take place while you’re towing the vehicle.

Cargo: $100K

Cargo goes hand in hand with On-Hook, covering damage to the customers belongings inside the vehicle that you’re towing.

Garage Keepers: 100K

Garage Keepers covers damages that take place while you’re storing a customer’s vehicle. If you do not store vehicles as part of your business services, you may not have to purchase this coverage.
